Perth Beaches

Western Australia has to have some of Australia’s best beaches and we are lucky enough that Perth is home to some of these spectacular beaches. There are so many things to do in Perth with our beaches being a highlight. When visiting Perth we suggest that you step foot on these 4 beaches.

Cottesloe

Cottesloe is a popular beach located only 15 minutes from Perth. The water is protected by a rock wall so you don’t get the large waves you can get at other beaches. With clear water, white sand and a wide grassy area shaded by Norfolk Pines it is easy to see why it is a favourite with locals. Picnic on the grass or eat at one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars along Marine Parade.

The beach is also home to the annual events Sculptures by the Sea and swimmers leave from Cottesloe beach for The Rottnest Channel Swim.

South Beach

South Fremantle’s South Beach has magnificent white sandy beaches. The beach offers stunning views to Rottnest, Garden and Carnac Island.

A large grassed area so it is the perfect spot to have a picnic or a BBQ or you can eat at the beachside cafe.

During the summer months it is home to South Beach Sunset Markets. The markets offers pop up bars, plenty of food choices, entertainment. Sit and enjoy your meal while watching a stunning sunset over the Indian Ocean.

Scarborough Beach

Scarborough beach is located 20 minutes north west of Perth and offers a long stretch of white sand. There is a regular swell which attracts surfers and body boarders. The beach has an outdoor amphitheatre which hosts lots of different events over the summer months.

There is a large grassed area so pack a picnic or enjoy a bbq. Scarborough Beach is built up compared to other Perth Beaches with hotels, restaurants and cafes. It is also a popular night spot with several bars to choose from.

Scarborough Beach is an ideal place for holiday makers as there is plenty of accommodation.

Port Beach

Located north of Fremantle and gets the name Port Beach as it is next to Fremantle Harbour’s North Quay wharf. Port Beach is popular with families as it is safe for swimming with small waves. It is also popular with snorkelers, wind surfers and kite surfers.

There is beach front cafe with a playground which is the perfect spot to relax and dine with the family.

When visiting Perth we suggest that you visit at least one of these beaches on your stay as you will not be disappointed.
